Chester City will lose thousands of pounds after they were forced to postpone next Monday's National North match against Hereford.
"Consultation was taken throughout with regards to this decision with the local Safety Advisory Group, The National League and both Clubs along with a number of possible alternative arrangements being eventually discounted due to match management staffing, policing and safe stewarding levels which would have been necessary to stage this specific fixture elsewhere at short notice."
The game was to be all-ticket suggesting a very high gate but that's highly unlikely to be the case when the two team eventually meet on a Tuesday night.
Whilst the club is insured against damage it's highly unlikely that they will have business disruption cover.
The damage occured on Sunday August 12th when torrential rain caused the roof above the control room and PA room to leak. Without working CCTV and a PA system that can be heard throughout the ground, games at this level can't be played because any safety certificate would not be valid.
Chester hope that all the required work will be completed by September 8th when Bradford PA are set to visit.
