Hereford FC have confirmed that Jimmy Oates is currently on trial at Exeter.
Last night Oates played 70 minutes for the Grecians at Bideford before being withdrawn.
After Hereford's game at Cirencester, football director Martin Watson confirmed the details of BN's article - http://bullsnews.blogspot.com/2018/07/oates-on-trial-at-exeter.html
He said that Oates was at the age that if he wanted to play full-time football he had to take the offer to trial from Exeter.
Asked if Oates was on contract with Hereford, Watson didn't wish to comment.
This morning Devonlive have also confirmed the story.
The defender featured in the Grecians’ 3-1 win at Bideford on Tuesday night in their first pre-season game of the year.
Oates, 26, was listed as a trialist during the win, and was included in the starting XI that saw Matt Taylor’s youthful side record a comfortable victory in north Devon.
Born in Australia, Oates joined Hereford in August 2015, and was voted the club’s player of the year during the 2016/17 season.
Bulls manager Pete Beadle is hopeful Oates will return to the club for Saturday’s friendly against Sporting Khalsa, but is already looking for a replacement.
