As the Nuneaton Town saga continues, the club have confirmed the ground as been bought by Port Vale's owner Norman Smurthwaite, and that the club have returned to their old name Nuneaton Borough - but Boro manager Gary Charles found out he'd lost his job through Twitter.
Found out through Twitter that I am no longer manager at Nuneaton Borough FC. Not had any contact with the chairman to let me know so I just want to say thank you to the fans for your fantastic support, to the players and staff I wish you all the best for future. Charles only learned of the news this weekend when the club announced the appointment of Nicky Eaden as their new boss. The club say they 'regret that it has led to such confusion' as they confirmed that Charles was only working on an 'informal basis' until the end of the season.
James McQuilkin |
Former Hereford United midfielder James McQuilkin has joined AFC Telford United after spending two-and-a-half seasons at Kidderminster Harriers. Manager Gavin Cowan told the club's official website that he was surprised that the player was available, but he's a real coup - high energy, quality in possession, intelligence, and a desire to achieve.
Another Telford player, Amari Morgan Smith, has told the Shropshire Star he's eyeing 20 goals this season, which may be the most important one of his career. The 29-year old has been told that this is the age where he's likely to peak as a player and is hoping to be in double-figures by Christmas.
Kidderminster Harriers have confirmed the signing of England International James Chambers. The 28-year old has signed a two-year deal at Aggborough, being described as 'one of non-league’s hottest free agents' by Kiddy's official site.
Hereford are looking for a number of people to bring Edgar The Bull to life on matchdays and other events throughout the year. The club are looking for people to don the outfit as well as a chaperone to help Edgar around the stadium.
