The Meadow End At Edgar Street |
There will be a debate about safe standing at football grounds in Parliament next month.
A petition to the Government about the matter has passed 100,000 signatures and is set to be debated on June 25th.
"We’re pleased that the issue will be heading to Parliament and we
welcome the opportunity to progress the debate around standing at
football," said Kevin Miles, chief executive of the FSF (Football Supporters Federation)
"It's clear that football fans want the choice between standing and
sitting – that simple choice has huge support among match-going fans
across the country."
A decision to allow safe standing at football matches may, eventually, mean that grants for new stands could be extended to those with terraces.
If so, and no doubt it's a long way off at present, Hereford might be able to take advantage when the Meadow End needs renewing.
