Next Season Starts Earlier Said Beadle

Hereford's next season will start earlier according to manager Peter Beadle and so the players will start training before the end of June.

However, as yet, Beadle doesn't know what his budget for next season might be. When will he know?

"Hopefully soon, talks are on-going," said Beadle.

"It's tough for everybody to find the right balance. Obviously we want to be competitive, we want to keep this momentum going.

"I think a lot of this will come down to what they are figuring in for season ticket sales.

"That's why I've said a couple of times it's really, really important that our supporters as great as they've been are even greater next year.

"The more season tickets they buy the more chance we have of being competitive.

"This season will be a bit different as there are some full time clubs in both divisions, some ex-pro managers in these divisions, so we need to be as competitve as we can be.

"It would be lovely to start averaging 2800, 2900 even 3,000. If we can get there it gives us a real fighting chance of being competitive.

"We've done it before, we had 4.500 here against Kettering two Saturday's ago with a fantastic atmosphere. And when they are like that and as vocal as that they are our twelfth man.

"So we want to get as many season ticket sales as we can to give us that chance to be competitive."

Asked about his future at the club, Beadle said talks were still on-going.

"We're not looking to leave or go anywhere.

"But I've been under contract for two seasons now and the contract has been the same for two seasons now.

"Now's the time I think my staff should also be on contract and maybe we've earnt a bit of a pay rise.

"It's all good, there are no issues between me and the board, we're not looking to do anything different. So talks are on-going."

Does Beadle get a break now the season is over.

"No, it's probably even worse now!

"You make a lot more phone calls trying to liase with players you may be interested in.

"Pre-season is almost set now, we're waiting for two to confirm now. If they do our pre-season is done.

"I think the League starts a week earlier this year. I think it's the first weekend of August so we've got to tailor the pre-season programme around that.

"Hopefully we can get our budget confirmed. Then we can get the players here now sorted out for next season and then move on to our targets after that."

So when will pre-season training start?

"We are looking at June 23rd or 26th, last year we started July 1st.

"The Southern League Awards dinner is on June 23rd so we might not start that day."
