Statement From Hereford FC About Watson

Hereford FC have released a statement about Martn Watson stepping down as a director of the club as reported on BN earlier this morning.

The implication, although not confirmed, is that Watson will now be paid by the club for his work. At present directors can not be paid for any work at the club.

‘I can confirm that Martin has decided the time is right for him to step down from his position as a Hereford United Supporters Trust (HUST) nominated director on the Hereford FC Board,’ said chairman Ken Kinnersley.

‘Martin has made an enormous contribution during his time on the Board and the number of hours he has put in at the club over the past two and half seasons is way beyond what could have been reasonably expected in a voluntary role. He has offered assistance and support in many areas right across the club and has always been willing to be flexible about where his help has been needed and when.

‘While he is stepping down from the board, we are all pleased that he will be retaining his role as Club Secretary. This means he will continue with the football administration duties that he has carried out so diligently since taking on the role in 2015.

‘The decision about Martin’s replacement will be taken by HUST and therefore it is right for the Trust’s Board to communicate any news to their members and the wider supporter base as soon as they have an update.’
