All Set For Tomorrow

With the hallowed turf at Edgar Street covered with a giant dome of hot air, tomorrow evening's game against Fleetwood is set to go ahead.

Jamie Griffiths from Hereford FC spoke to BBC Hereford and Worcester late this afternoon about the preparations.

Griffiths was asked by Andrew Easton how big a match this is

"I was talking to Peter Beadle about it and he and the players rank it as right up there simply because it is against League One opposition particulaily because of a big game against Leicester at stake.

"It's big money for the TV coverage from BT Sport, there's the winnings from the FA and then if we beat Fleetwood we play Leicester and that's live on BBC One with over £100,000 for the TV alone."

How does the dome work?

"Essentially it's a giant inflatible tube that runs from one goalmouth to the next and then they just cover that with sheeting and anchor it down on the sides of the pitch and inflate the tube down the middle, that lifts the sheets off the ground and they can pump hot air in as and when needed.

"They will be here throughout the night to keep an eye on the weather, keep an eye on the temperature and act accordingly."

Is all the snow gone?

"We've had close to 150 volunteers throughout the day yesterday, probably 30 to 40 more here today. There's hardly a patch of snow in sight other than a giant mound in the Blackfriars End.

"Fantastic job of clearing more or less all the snow

"People turned up at 10am and left at 10pm last night. They had a proper full day of it. I think the youngest was probably four or five years old and the oldest seventy two.

"We've had such a diverse range of people all pulling together."

Is it a sell out?

"More or less, we were lucky enough to get an extra 200 tickets that would normally be for the away enclosure and we've managed to put them on sale today. There are potentially 25 left (as at 5pm). They will be available tomorrow morning (if not sold before)."

John Mills's hat-trick coming up?

"Anyone with a hat-trick would be good! He certainly knows where the goal is."
