Merthyr manager Gavin Williams has thanked Hereford supporters for helping raise funds to help the struggling club.
Merthyr play Hereford on Boxing Day and are hopeful of a full house.
“That’s the thing about the football community," said Williams during a meeting of Merthyr supporters this evening.
"They will know what we’re going through and I know a lot of Hereford fans have put in donations.
“We can only thank them for that and hopefully they’ll bring as many fans as possible.”
Earlier former Merthyr treasurer John Strand told the meeting that the playing budget was £200,000. However receipts from the last home game were £1700 gross.
"As of last Friday our cash reserves were equal to the bills due that day.
“The situation is that if we try to pay overdue tax bills we will have overspent by about £20,000.
“We hope to get that down to £8,000 by the Hereford game."
