Members of Belmont Wanderers FC gathered on Sunday 21st
May, to celebrate their annual Awards Day. Members of the club’s 15
different teams enjoyed the fun, which celebrated Belmont Wanderers FC’s
achievements throughout this year’s football season. The awards were
presented by former mayor, Jim Kenyon and Hereford FC’s chairman, Ken
Kinnersley.
This
thoroughly enjoyable event had something for everyone, including bouncy
castles, ice-creams for the kids, BBQ, tombola, and much, much more.
The day managed to raise an incredible £1000, which will go towards the building of a new clubhouse for Belmont Wanderers FC.
Belmont
Wanderers FC has been growing in size and prestige since it was formed
in 2010. The club now comprises of 15 great teams, including a Mini
Kickers boys/girls team, under 8s boys, under 9s boys, under 10 boys,
under 12 boys, under 8s girls, under 10 girls, under 12 girls, under 14
girls, senior team as well as a VETs and ladies’ teams.
Each
year, new players from the local community join Belmont Wanderers FC,
enjoying fun and quality football training, supported by the club’s
friendly coaches.
Testament
to just how far Belmont Wanderers FC has come since forming just seven
years ago, is the fact they recently won a Charter Standard Club of the
Year Award in the local community awards.
Chris Tipping, Head of Development for the club, spoke of Belmont Wanderers FC’s incredible achievements.
“The
club has had a great year winning Charter Standard of the Year award,
it’s occasions like this that make you realise all the hard work is
worth it, as a coach, parent or a player. We have a fantastic turnout
each year and it seems to keep growing, with new teams being added each
season,” said Chris Tipping.
“A
huge thank you to Jim Kenyon and Ken Kinnersley for coming along and
giving out awards, it just goes to show that there is some great local
support out there, which can only inspire players even further,” Belmont
Wanderers FC’s Head of Development added.

This
year’s boy of the season was awarded to Harry Williams in the Under 9s
team, with girl of the season going to u14s Charlotte Hill. Both Harry’s
and Charlottes families are huge Hereford FC fans and were blown away
by the surprise guest!
Chris
Tipping spoke of how the club will continue to push forward with the
aim of raising money for the new clubhouse project and making sure the
community have something to be very proud of, as well as thanking all
those that help with the football club.
