The 'Cup Final' between Hereford and Royston which is set to take place on Saturday April 29th isn't the first Southern League Final the club has played in.
In 1959 Hereford won the North Western section of the Southern League but lost
2-1 to South Eastern winners Bedford Town in a ‘grand championship
decider’.
Bedford took the lead and Gerald Griffiths equalised for Hereford five minutes from time, only for former Spurs player Len Duquemin to grab the winner seconds before the final whistle.
