This from Hereford FC:
Paul Quarrell |
Paul – who is Managing Director at local building firm William Powell & Sons and voluntary Chair of Hereford & Gloucester Construction Safety Association Limited – will now officially take on responsibility for all stadium related matters (including health & safety and security) at Edgar Street, having previously overseen this area of the business in an informal capacity for many months.
As well as offering assistance to the club’s board for some time, Paul has also been a key member of the Edgar Street Safety Advisory Group (SAG) since April 2015, working alongside local partners from the police, the fire service and the local council to ensure the club’s stadium continues to meet all the necessary requirements to retain its safety certificate.
Club officials would like to reassure fans that in relation to this appointment, with a possible conflict of interest due to Paul’s business interests, safeguards have been put in place to ensure best value continues to be sought when tenders are invited for work at Edgar Street.
Supporters are also reminded that although Paul now has an formal voluntary role at Edgar Street, as his status is ‘non-executive’ he does not hold any voting rights at board meetings.
