Hereford manager Peter Beadle named a strong side for the short hop across the city. Playing a 3-5-2 formation Hereford threatened early on but were unable to break down the home side defence.
It took 14 minutes for Hereford to open the scoring. Jamie Molyneux's cross found Sinclair who lost his balance as he was tackled but was able to get the ball to Mills who slotted home from close range.
Hereford continued to press for a second but came up against a resilient Pegasus defence. Hereford continued to pile pressure on former youth player Lewis Fletcher down the left and it was this pressure that led to the second goal. Preece broke down the wing and found Haysham who flicked the ball onto Mills in open space. Mills shot ended up at the feet of Huntbach in front of goal and despite a tackle he was able to get his shot on target and double the lead for Hereford.
Hereford then increased the lead as Haysham broke down the right before putting the ball past the keeper and into the bottom corner.
Mills came close on the stroke of half time but his shot went wide.
Half Time: Pegasus 0-3 Hereford
Hereford nearly increased the lead within minutes of the restart only for the post to deny Molyneux's cross. The second half was a quieter half with most of the action being in the middle of the field.
Half way through the second half Pegasus got on the score group as Luke Griffiths pulled one back. Hereford nearly extended the lead in the last few minutes but Symons's shot was cleared off the line.
