A Hereford match programme has sold on Ebay for £466.85.
The programme was for a game between Hereford United and Headington Town which was played on January 7th 1950.
Hereford historian Ron Parrott keeps a keen eye on sales of programmes.
"In 50 odd years of collecting Hereford United programmes, this is
the highest price that I have ever seen one sell for," Ron told BN.
"Headington United
of course, went on to become Oxford United and programmes from this era
always sell for high prices, firstly because they are rare and secondly
because there are probably half a dozen collectors of their programmes,
who invariably bid against each other and push the prices up.
"All I can say is that I’m so grateful there aren’t that number of
serious collectors of Hereford United programmes about so at least I
stand a chance of acquiring them at more realistic prices!"
