Evesham's Linden Dovey scored a tremendous goal against Hereford at Edgar Street last Monday which has drawn comparisons by some with Lionel Messi.
And the defender hopes it will persuade manager Paul Collicut to use him as a striker.
"Colly knows my opinion on whether I'm a striker or defender," Dovey told GloucestershireLive.
"I tend to try get forward as much as I can from the back in games so that attacking side of my game is still there."
He won't forget the day easily.

"It's the biggest crowd I've
played in front of and just getting out the car and walking through
there were hundreds of fans around.
"The warm-up gave you a little insight into the atmosphere as fans arrived until you actually walk out the tunnel and hear the noise before kick-off.
Hereford were 2-0 ahead at half-time.

"It's my first goal of the season and to score it against Hereford in front of 4,400 was something I won't forget."
Hereford were 2-0 ahead at half-time.
"In the first half we didn't showcase what we're about at all and looked a little shell-shocked.
"However the second half we were a different team and on another day could have scored one or two more and even beaten them. I have full confidence in the team/squad and we are all desperate to get that promotion
"I think Hereford were surprised what a team we have as were the supporters who applauded our efforts as we left the pitch.
"On behalf of myself, the players and the management we all appreciated the travelling fans. We were all so disappointed we couldn't get a result we all wanted."
