HEREFORDSHIRE
LIFE THROUGH A LENS
'As
Sunday and the FA Vase creeps ever closer for Hereford FC, memories of the
Bulls' giant killing victory over Newcastle Utd remain vivid for many
fans.
The late
photographer Derek Evans was on hand on that memorable day, capturing this
iconic shot in the changing rooms soon after the team's unprecedented
success.
This
must have been a special moment for Evans too, who was a passionate Hereford
Utd fan, and whose work is at the centre of the Herefordshire Life through a
Lens project.
His
archive features hundreds of photos of his beloved Hereford on the pitch. It
was said he always got close to the action, a little too close on occasions
according to some.
Could
our modern day photographers be taking a similar after match victory photo on
Sunday? Certainly, the 50 busloads leaving Edgar Street on Sunday morning will
certainly be hoping so.
We will
be there too for this historic day and look forward to seeing you all there.'
