XSLF (Ex-Stiff Little Fingers) are back in
Hereford tomorrow after their first visit just under 3 years ago. They
played the Starlite Rooms to a packed crowd then, and although they are
performing at the Victory instead this time, they are pleased to be back
in what they call their second home.
Vocalist/guitarist Henry Cluney
said ‘We couldn’t believe the reception we had on our first visit,
coupled with the fact that it was at the famous Edgar Street (we all
know of the 72 cup run), the passion was there to see. So much so we
played our gig in Hereford United shirts. We’ve been back 4 times since,
more than any other town. It was so disappointing to see the club fold
but this season has been phenomenal. We’ve managed to work our itinerary
out so we can take in Saturday’s match v Brocton and certainly I’m
really looking forward to it.’
Drummer Jim Reilly added ‘I’m disappointed I
haven’t been selected to play as I’m a 20 goals a season type of guy,
but I suppose Mills and Symons have proved their worth. We’re not sure
we can make it to Wembley, but if we can’t you’ll find me in a pub
watching on BT Sport! Oh, and I’ll be in Addisons bar on Saturday if
anyone fancies a chat’.
The band are playing the Victory on Friday night,
starting at 8pm. Entry is £10 on the door. Support provided by Chinese
Burn from Stroud.
