We're Giving Silly Goals Away Admits Beadle

Whilst pleased with last night's win against Continental Star, Hereford FC manager Peter Beadle was disappointed to give a 'silly' goal away.

"Pleased but when we went to Dunkirk, come here, I'm sure it will be the same on Saturday, we don't have easy games," said Beadle.

"The pitch doesn't help, it's dry and bobbly but we don't do ourselves any favours at times with the silly goals we keep giving away.

"We're crying out for a clean sheet and Saturday we did it and the week before we did it and we've done it again today.

"Again like Saturday we could have been three or four before they scored with the chances we had.

"We've got to start being more ruthless and get these games done quicker than they are because the longer the game goes the more they are in the game.

"In the end the lads have been great tonight, it's not an easy place to come and play and they are young, energetic and full of enthusiasm and they gave us a real good game tonight.

"Three points and five goals so we're happy."

The gap at the top of the table is now seven points.

"Yes, but I think all the teams around us would have been saying that anyway knowing that this was our next game.

"Alvechurch are not where they are for no reason, they've only lost four games all season and they are going to be chomping at our heals right to the very death.

"It doesn't mean anything, yes we've seven points ahead but we've played a game more so we've just got to focus on us and keeping trying to win every game we play in. If we can do that we'll give ourselves a good chance."

Injury News?

"We have picked up one or two but this is the crazy thing about the League we are in.

"The other night a statement was announced that they were putting the season back a week just after we had played five games in ten days and they were not easy games and they were not easy pitches and the Thursday night one (Alvechurch) was heavy - both teams were due a lot of credit that night.

"Nathan felt this hamstring a little bit and Joel jarred his ankle a little bit, we thought they would be ready but they are not quite ready so we've used all of the squad tonight.

"Joel is not quite ready yet, Nathan's not far away, Jamie Laird had a work committment which I knew about before he signed, Jimmy and Max both have a bit of a virus. They both went down with it over the weekend. The last thing we want is that going through the whole team. Hopefully they'll both be fit and back together on Saturday.

"That's why we have the squad we have because we know closer to the end of the season we get there's a good chance we might pick up the odd niggle or two.

"So Joe Tumelty has come on tonight, Ross Staley has come on and got some minutes, James Piling has come on for the first time for a little while now, it's enough to keep him ticking over.

"Joe's come on and got his goal and done really well.

"So we've got one or two niggles but we're not too concerned too much, hopefully we'll have a few back on Saturday."
