Eight Weeks To Wembley

In just eight weeks Hereford FC will be playing in the final of the FA Vase at Wembley, a great achievement for a club in its first season.

Given up to 15,000 Hereford supporters are expected to attend, there will be some problems to overcome, transport being one of them.

"We are going to meet them in the second week of April to find all the bits and pieces," Hereford FC football secretary Martin Watson told BN.

"We are not going to get physical tickets here for at least a month yet simply because they haven't printed them and they don't know what they are expecting.

"There is no panic on tickets. If anyone wants to get them in person they are not going to run out, they've assured us of that.

"It's a big stadium, we are not going suddenly to find ourselves struggling for space.

"It's just a question of getting the organisation, because it is two months away, a case of being a little bit patient.

"At the moment we are looking at hotels, coach companies to get coaches for the various people who want to go down there.

"The one thing we have found is that because it's FA Cup final weekend a lot of the hotels are booked up, even coaches if you want a certain type of coach a lot of them are already booked up.

"You get these travel companies who do bookings for FA Cup finals, doesn't matter who plays there, they will just book the hotels, book the coaches and then worry about who is playing there when it comes to it.

"Because it's that weekend we are struggling a little bit but I think we're getting sorted."

So how are we all getting there?

"Logistically getting the quantity of people to Wembley - there's no trains that leave that morning that will get there in time.

"So we are looking at coaches. Reg is doing the coaches, he's doing a fantastic job, he really has taken the Bull by the horns in that respect.

"In terms of us (the club) we are answering the phones and giving the answers that we can but all the information has to come out of the FA first.

"We are waiting for this meeting to get the bulk of the information we need."
