Hartley Wintney felt they were still in the FA Vase game at halftime although Hereford were leading 1-0. But after Hereford added two more quickly, the game was effectively over.
"We weren't too discouraged to be 1-0 down at half-time," Hartley joint manager Anthony Millerick told the Non League Paper.
"But the game plan goes out of the window when we conceed a really bad goal.
"Against a team like Hereford, it's a real mountain to climb.
"We shot ourselves in the foot for the third goal.
"And although we huffed and puffed, we just couldn't blow their house down."
