Club Historian Ron Parrott recently received an email from Hereford supporter Jack Duke in Australia asking how many Australian born players had ever appeared for Hereford.
He had already identified Trent McLenahan, Jon Brady and Jimmy Oates but Ron managed to unearth two more, Wally Cornock who played just three games for United in goal in 1946/47 and Kane Kahaki who came on as a substitute in two Herefordshire Senior Cup finals in 2004/05 and 2005/06.
Jack is keen to obtain match worn shirts from each of these players and has already procured a Trent McLenahan one and he currently sponsors Jimmy Oates so will automatically get his shirt at the end of the season. Wally Cornock, of course, would not have had one because players’ names did not appear on shirts in those days and Kane Kahaki was only a youngster and would not have had a squad number or his own shirt.
That just leaves Jon Brady and this is where Bulls News readers may be able to help. Jack is prepared to pay over the odds to anyone who can help him find such a shirt. If anyone can help, could they please email Ron Parrott at ron.parrott@tiscali.co.uk and he will help with negotiations.
