Wide Men Impressed Beadle

Peter Beadle Suggesting To The Referee To Get On With The Game
In his post Brocton interview, Hereford FC manager Peter Beadle said he thought his side played well throughout the game and also praised the contribution of his wide players.

"I thought we played well throughout the game," said Beadle.

"We were strong at the back, a few little things we need to tighten up with.

"The shape they played first half I thought we finally got it right to play against it.

"When we got the goal it was a perfect piece of play which we've been asking them to do which they did and it came off and Carlos got on the scoresheet.

"Then second half, whether it was lack of fitness or lack of discipline I don't know but we stepped our game up and we showed that when we are on form and teams go down to ten men then we have taken advantage and we did that today.

"Four goals were good, the clean sheet was great and it could have been a few more."

Beadle admitted he didn't know much about how Brocton would play.

"It was important that we kept it wide and I thought our wide men today have won us the game to be fair. I thought their movement and energy was excellent and they both got on the scoresheet so they've had a good day today."

With Sol Wheatley sidelined, Beadle selected youngster Carlos Moriera to start.

"I don't think we throw him in, I think he's been involved in enough games and I think he deserved his chance today and he's taken it with both hands, fair play to him.

"He was exceptional throughout the game, I think his decision making at times needs to be better but that comes with experience but his actual play was good and his goal was fantastic and he played a big part in the win today."

John Mills scored two of the goals, both from the spot.

"I think the first one was a bit harsh, but the second one was a penalty.

"The first one was hit that hard and that close, to get out the way he would have done well.

"It's up to him (Mills) to step up and take them and he did it and he put them both away so keeps his run going and it keeps our run going.

"Four goals away from home and another clean sheet, so an all run very satisfying performance."

Anthony Robbins came on as a substitute in the second half.

"It's easy to come on sometimes when you are playing well but it's a big thing for him when you've come from across the road so he wants to impress and wants to do well.

"We said to him why didn't he shoot for the goal (which Adam Page scored) but he said he wanted to make sure it went in!

Robbins Could Have Shot But Decided To Pass It To Page
"He got into the game quickly, but it is easier when we're a man up and we're playing as well as we are but it was a good game for him to come on and he's going to be a good acquisition for us.

"He's shown today in little spells what he can do and I know there's another side to his game as well, may be we will see that in future weeks.

"He wants to win and we need players like that in and around the club. He doesn't want to be second best. As long as he stays focused on the game and does it within the rules of the game we've no problem with that.

"But he is, I think the term is, a spoiler. He'll come in and break the play up. But I think the two that have played there have done exceptionally well with doing that but with his experience he will add an awful lot to the group."
