We Created Bags Of Chances Said Birch

Aaron Birch Gets In Front Of The Brocton Captain
Despite winning 4-0 at Brocton this afternoon, Hereford FC midfielder Aaron Birch felt the margin should have been greater.

"I think it should have been more than 4-0," Birch told BN.

"The shooting boots, we didn't quite have them on today but we created bags of chances.

"If we keep doing that all season we're going to put them away nine times out of ten so there will be more goals."

Hereford top the League and the expectation that the new club would do well attracted Birch to Edgar Street.

"That was part of the reason why I came and then the fan base, the standard of the club and the promise it had. It has so much ambition obviously coming from where it did.

"So I expected us to do well but the after the shaky start you start thinking is it quite going to happen.

"But as we've gelled and got to know each other we've come on leaps and bounds and we look head and shoulders above most of the teams we've come up against."

It was put to Birch that Avlechurch might be Hereford's main competition although they lost today.

"I didn't know they had lost, I've got a couple of mates who play there so I'll give them some stick!

"They will be tough, they are very organised and work hard, got some big lads in the team and they will be up there."

Birch
Birch has been a regular starter for Hereford recently.

"I don't think you can cement your position at any club at any level. We've got some good midfielders, Sidic came on and he can play midfield although he played out wide today.

"Robbo came on, done well and created a goal and Purds didn't get a chance today.

"So there's five of us competing for a place and as long as I'm playing I'm happy. But I've got to keep fighting for it."
