News Round-Up

Coventry Sphinx have allowed midfielder Jack Jeyes to leave after just one start this season. Coleshill Town have let defender Alex Baird join Atherstone Town. Ex-Bull Chris Todd is in temporary charge at Eastleigh after manager Richard Hill quit in the wake of a 5-2 home loss to Dover. The Spitfires competed in the Conference play-offs last season but are down in mid-table after a series of poor results.

Former Torquay manager Paul Cox claims he was told by the club that they were unlikely to be able to afford to pay him a wage this season. Cox says he quit after being told the news, claiming other agreed points of his expenses-only deal were not met. Since Cox's departure the club have signed three players. A coachload of Plymouth fans attended the Gulls' home loss to Boreham Wood on Tuesday night to show solidarity with their cash strapped neighbours.

Crawley have announced that "Hong Kong Paul" Hayward is the mysterious Far East benefactor that has funded the club's rise from the Conference to League One. The announcement comes three weeks after a small number of supporters were banned from the club for querying the ownership of the club. In a statement, Hayward says he's not an owner of the club, but has passed the Owners and Directors Test.
