The Farnborough Farce

Farnborough have had their appeal against needing to pay a £30,000 bond to the Ryman League in order to compete this season rejected.

The league have reported that the bond has been paid this afternoon, but the club now faces new charges over their CVA. Yesterday, the club's creditors voted in favour of a new CVA that would pay only a small fraction of the debt owed.

The new agreement breaches league rules that a 100% CVA must be agreed meaning the club have now been charged with failing to notify the league, and further sanctions will be considered when the case is heard next Thursday by the league.

The Cherrywood Road outfit have already had three matches this season postponed due to the appeal over the bond, and have now seen two further matches between now and the charge hearing also called off. Penalties for the charge range from a points deduction to expulsion.

The club was only formed in 2007 after the original Farnborough Town folded. They moved up two divisions to finish second in Conference South in 2011, but have dropped back down in recent season as money worries resurfaced.
