My Bollocking Helped Said Beadle

Joel Edwards Leads Out The Hereford XI Starting XI
After Hereford FC came back from being 3-0 down after just twelve minutes to win 4-3 at Rocester this afternoon, manager Peter Beadle admitted he had given a short team talk at half time and sent the players out early into a heavy rainstorm although he says he didn't realise it was raining.

Beadle was asked what he had made the difference.

"My bollocking probably," Beadle told BN.

"I can fit a lot of words into two minutes!

"It's about wearing the shirt with pride, bit of desire, going out and getting up against players.

"First mistake we can accept because every player makes mistakes. Unfortunately when it's the goalkeeper it stands out more than anything but Harvey has kept us in games this season so you forgive him one mistake.

"It's what happened after the mistake that was a little bit discouraging in the way we folded a little bit.

"Simple goal for their second one, straight ball through the middle, lack of communication from Joel and Tony.

"And then their last goal came from our corner, they break away and we don't defend properly.

"We can't keep giving teams leads and expect to come back all the time.

"But credit to all the players second half, they went out there and rolled their sleeves up and got back in the game.

"You would have settled for a draw but to win it is the icing on the cake and that's probably just deserts for what we didn't get last Saturday as I thought we deserved something last Saturday but we didn't get it.

"The support we've had today has been fantastic and if it puts bums on seats great but we're only interested in winning games of football.

"We know the expectation level and what it is and our players have got to manage it.

"We've got to make sure we carry Saturday's performance and the second half of today into Tuesday and that should lead us in nicely to the Westfields game on the Monday."

Both Tony James and a Rocester player were sent off in injury time. What did Beadle make of the incident.

Referee Simpson Shows Tom Land A Red Card
"The referee explained it. He said their number four (captain Tom Land) kicked one of our players in the face and then one of our players went over. He said he punched him but according to Tony he didn't punch him but held him down by the throat as he didn't want him to kick him again.

"You can't handle players in that way but that late in the game may be say a yellow card for both but I think another yellow card would have put the skipper off anyway.

"But, if that's the case, a yellow card for both probably would have been a little bit fairer.

"I know you can't kick out and you certainly can't raise your hands but that late in the game and obviously understanding the game and how it had gone, 3-0 and then 4-3 down, you can understand emotions and you've got to try and manage those emotions.

"It is what it is and the referee has made his decision and we have to stick by it and we've got to deal with it. Two weeks today we won't have Tony for a game.

"Nathan Summers misses one game on Tuesday. We got plenty of options so we'll try and put someone in there who more than capable.

"We'll wait and see how everybody is after today and we've choose a squad from there."
