The Herefordshire Football Association is recruiting an apprentice in Football Development and Coaching. The candidate will deliver a number of coaching sessions (to all ages including adults) and help deliver the F.A Recreational Football pilot in Herefordshire.
The Herefordshire Football Association has
invested in the program by adding additional qualifications which will
include the following:

FA Level 1 ACF (Including Emergency 1st Aid, FA Safeguarding)
·
FA Level 2 ACF
·
FA Youth Award Module 1
·
FA Youth Award Module 2
·
FA Basic Referees’ Course
·
Process through an FA CRB
This is on top of the following which will be delivered over a one year period as part of the national guidelines.
The following courses;
Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Football Development
Duration: 52 Weeks and 1 day (5 days per week)
Consists of:
- Functional Skills Level 2 English (Writing, Reading & Speaking, listening and Communication
- Functional Skill Level 2 Mathematics
- Level 3 Btec Diploma in Sports Development
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Sports Development
- Level 3 Award in Employment Awareness in Active Leisure and Learning
- Level 3 NVQ in Managing Sports Volunteers
It is estimated that all of the above
qualifications would cost in the region of £5,000.00 and take many years
to complete if accessed outside of this scheme. These qualifications
once complete will exceed
2 ‘A’ levels.
Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Football Development and Coaching
Entry requirements:
- 5 GCSE’s, at A-E grade with one preferably in Sport
- Young people must be 17 -18 years old on commencement of programme
- A full driving licence and access to a car for business use.
Exit routes
- Another level 3 Apprenticeship
- Level 3 Scholarship programme
- Work in the sports industry
- Foundation Degree at University/College (18 and over)
Course Delivery

Industry expert delivered (coach/site manager/mentor)
·
VLUK supported & assessed
·
All academic content provided through online learning platform, The Sports Brain.
·
6hrs – Theory
·
30 hours - relevant,
industry linked work experience, e.g. football development, coaching,
sales, admin, leading and managing volunteers and junior staff,
marketing, strategic management of sports and
ensuring the health, safety and well-being of staff and participants is
correctly followed.
·
Work experience built around business needs of the HFA (This will include regular evening and weekend work)
·
Mentoring by HFA Football Strategy Manager and Football Development Officer.
Wage
The apprentice will be paid £3.30 per hour and work (including training) for 37.5 hours per week. Mileage expenses paid when on work business.
Working Hours
Please be aware that
flexibility will be required as regular evening and weekend work will
form a key part of the work experience.
In general, the apprentice will start at 12.30pm and finish at 8pm (Monday to Friday).
