Clubs Complain About Fixture List

The fixture list drawn up by the Midlands League has been criticised by several clubs. As opposed to the usual idea of a home match followed by an away match, some clubs including Hereford FC have been given four home or away matches in a row.

The League say it will look at what can be done.

"Apparantly there's one who has been given six straight away games to finish the season," Hereford FC football secretary Martin Watson told BN.

"There's another with 14 out of 21 games away in one half of the season.

"People are complaining about bunching of fixtures, we've got four straight home games in March and we've got nothing from November 21st to Boxing Day.

"That doesn't help the Christmas run up at all.

"We got the e-mail around 9pm on Monday evening and within an hour there were complaints.

"The League secretary e-mailed everyone yesterday morning to say there were a lot of complaints and they would have a look at it.

"The suggestion, at the moment, is that the first month stays in place as originally announced (Hereford to play Dunkirk on August 8th etc) and the rest of it could be moved around.

"How much of it we don't know.

"No one is ever going to be completely happy with a fixture list as they are always going to want certain games in certain places."
