Rivers Departs Gloucester

Former Bulls youth teamer Harvey Rivers has left Gloucester City after opting to take up a first team opportunity with an as yet unnamed club.

Rivers made only one appearance for Gloucester, in their final game of the season, and also spent several weeks on loan at Westfields as well as turning out for the Hartpury College side that are the reigning British National University champions.

He was released by Cheltenham last summer after a two year scholarship, spending time on loan at Bishops Cleeve in the Southern League South & West division towards the end of the 2013/14 season.

The Tigers have signed former Kidderminster stopper Jasbir Singh to be their no.1 next term but wanted Rivers to remain as backup with manager Tim Harris telling the Gloucester Citizen:

"Harvey's got the opportunity to play first team football. I have to say Harvey's been very professional, he's worked really hard and I would've loved to have kept him as the number two."
