Lease Deal On Track To Be Signed Before End Of Next Week

This from Hereford FC:

Hereford FC Chairman Jon Hale has today told the club’s official website that everything remains on track to formally complete and sign the Edgar Street lease deal before the end of next week.

He also confirmed that, although electrical work needs to be done before the club can be granted full access to the stadium, club officials are hopeful of setting up a temporary office at Edgar Street soon after the lease is finalised with Herefordshire Council.

‘Work is progressing well in relation to the final lease document and we are right on track to complete the deal formally before the end of next week. Our solicitor and the council’s are working very hard to ensure everything is in place to satisfy both parties and I am told all is in hand.

‘Once the deal is completed we will have to wait a little while before we can be given the keys and granted full access to the stadium, as there are a number of electrical issues that need addressing before we can occupy the ground. However, we will be getting this remedial work done as soon as we possibly can.

‘Although we will not be able to have full access to Edgar Street initially, we will quickly set up a temporary office in the club shop so that we can have a physical presence at the ground. We feel this is very important, especially as we want to get season tickets on sale at the earliest possible opportunity once the lease is signed.

‘We will keep fans updated on the progress towards completion of the lease deal next week and will also announce any plans we have to open the temporary office once they are confirmed.

‘Once we are able to start the general work around the stadium, our Volunteers Co-Ordinator, Ken Kinnersley, will be in touch with people who have come forward and offered the type of help we immediately need.’

The Hereford FC Chairman then went on to discuss the Charity Match that is taking place at Westfields Football Club on Sunday which has been organised by Hereford United legend, Steve Guinan.

‘I’m really looking forward to Sunday’s game and I hope all Hereford fans turn out in force to support the great charity Steve is raising money for – Children With Cancer UK.

‘It will be fantastic to see so many former Hereford players again – there are some real club legends on show and some of the most talented players we’ve ever had the good fortune of seeing at Edgar Street.

‘It will also be fantastic to see Graham Turner managing the Hereford United team on the day. I recently spoke to Graham on the phone and he has kindly offered to assist Hereford FC if we feel we’d like to call on his expertise. We are going to meet for a coffee in the next few weeks.

‘I’d like to call on supporters to get along to Sunday’s match if they possibly can. Not only will it be a fantastic occasion, but it is also an opportunity for fans to catch up with old friends and gather in a show of strength for the future.

‘Most importantly though, it is a great opportunity to show support for Steve Guinan and the fantastic charity he is raising money for.’

Sunday’s Charity Match at Westfields Football Club kicks off at 2.30pm and more information can be found on the Hereford United Supporters Trust (HUST) website at www.hufctrust.co.uk/guinan-charity-game-take-place-westfields/.
