Having yesterday given an update on the club’s search for a manager and the progress of lease negotiations with Herefordshire Council, Hereford FC’s Chairman Jon Hale has today discussed the club’s commercial activity and the progress towards completion of the Articles of Association.
‘Away from the football side of things, commercially we are also beginning to make contact with potential sponsors – and have actually already had a number of companies commit to sponsorship, but we don’t feel it’s right to progress wider discussions too far until we have the keys to Edgar Street.
‘However, please do feel free to e-mail commercial@herefordfc.co.uk if you’d like to register an interest in finding out more about sponsorship packages at Edgar Street.
‘Our immediate priority is securing a shirt sponsor because that will allow us to start the process of choosing our home and away shirts and getting them into production.
‘As it stands we are in discussions with national kit manufacturers who are interested in working with us as they see the potential Hereford FC has, but at the moment it would be wrong to discuss further details of any of our commercial negotiations.
‘Over recent days we also have had detailed discussions about season ticket and matchday admission prices and we are aiming to release details as soon as we can.
‘We are keen to put season tickets on sale as quickly as possible, but are not entirely comfortable doing so until the lease is finalised. We will be having further conversations about this over the weekend as we do not want to waste time and feel we need to get tickets on sale if we can.’
The Hereford FC Chairman then went on to give a brief update on the current position with the club’s Articles of Association.
‘Phil Eynon and Martin Watson have been working very hard on the Articles of Association and a draft of these is nearly complete.
‘We know how important the Articles are and therefore there are a couple of points we are seeking independent advice about to ensure that all the protection the club requires is in place.
‘Once the draft is complete, Martin will seek further expert advice on behalf of the HUST membership and will then work with the HUST Board to ensure the Articles of Association are exactly right.
‘As a Board we do not see there being any major issues though, as every single person involved in this process wants exactly the same thing – a football club that is protected and secure for future generations to enjoy.
‘The Articles will not be signed off until we are absolutely certain this is what they do.
