Rumours have circulated all week that Andy Lonsdale, the owner of chairman of Hereford United when it collapsed, is sniffing around at Farnborough.
The Conference South side are looking for new investment with Get Hampshire reporting:
Now it is rumoured that Lonsdale, along with a consortium based mainly in Essex, has shown an interest in buying Farnborough with unconfirmed reports suggesting an offer has already been lodged and accepted by owner Rob Prince.
But, manager Spencer Day, former owner and the club’s largest creditor, says he has distanced himself from any such takeover negotiations, instead confirming the club are actively seeking new investment or ownership.
Day simply commented: “The club are actively and urgently looking for investors and/or new owners and that search will go on until it is complete.”
