Hereford United chairman Andy Lonsdale has responded to HUST's statement this morning:
I was very disappointed to read on Bulls News that HUST had turned down the opportunity to voice their opinion with regards to the new investment.
When I requested the meeting I personally telephoned Martin Watson and discussed the scenario. Only to find now that they do not want to meet but not telephone me and put it straight on the Social Media site that he controls
I ask the following questions.
1. Why would HUST not come to the table to discuss the future
2. Do they want Hereford United FC(1939) Ltd to survive
It is evident by my previous statement that we are asking for their help and backing to get this Club back to an even keel. We are aware of the conditions of the boycott; however we are caught in a vicious circle. Without the backing of HUST, the continuing negotiations for investment into the Club will be a challenge.
I have read in various areas on the web that we are doing this to discredit HUST, whereas the reverse is true, we are trying to build bridges and need the support from fans as well as the community. How else can we end this? How else can we get people on side?
We are willing to eat humble pie and say “Hey we haven’t done it right” and as some may say “Tinpot”, well come and help us get it right.
As they have publicly stated they are not interested, we will continue to pursue the investment with the aim of keeping this Club alive, rebuilding Hereford United for the fans and community.
All we were trying to do was to bring what everyone has asked for transparency and truth, to try and unite the fans for the future of this great Club.
Andy Lonsdale
Chairman
