In a week when the rain finally returned to Hereford with a vengenance, Hereford United had a visit from the water company to disconnect supply.
The outstanding bill was paid at the last minute to keep supplies flowing, but elsewhere the taps run dry. At Victoria Park, where the club are supposed to pay for the upkeep of the ground as part of their agreement with UITC, the water and electric have been disconnected for non-payment with the grass not having been cut for some time - with payments to Mowtech having ceased from the club again.
While the club continue to struggle to pay the basic bills, and staff wages, they have found the money to sign another player. It is being reported elsewhere that defender Delroy Gordon has signed on a permanent deal from Nuneaton after his loan spell expired with seven goals conceded in three matches without him.
The programme printers also appear to be a victim of the bill paying ethos, with the last two matches having a 'photocopied' programme sold for £2.
Meanwhile Stephen Jones, who along with Steve Ford set up a series of companies with Hereford United related names back in August (link), has given his opinion on the quality of football when asked why he had not made the trip to Edgar Street on Tuesday night for the Corby match:
Jones and Ford had met privately with Tommy Agombar in the weeks before the company formations with both highly critical of HUST. Both men have refused since to reveal why they formed the companies despite dozens of questions from fans.
