Lack Of Composure Lets Bulls Down

Hereford United will probably feel they deserved three points from this afternoon's quite entertaining match at another former Conference side Histon.

But a lack of composure close to goal remains a real problem for the Bulls.

They did hit the post in the first half and and again right at the end. However despite playing several different strikers in recent games, manager Jon Taylor hasn't yet found one who can find the back of the net.

Taylor has however found a player who looks as though he can run the mid-field. Making his first appearance since arriving on loan from Nueaton Delroy Gordon showed the difference a bit of experience can make at this level.

Fouled?
Hereford first hit the post when Oni Onyeike took a free kick after Sub Daniel O'Reilly was fouled and the Histon keeper Enol Ordonez well beaten.

Shortly afterwards Akinde received a yellow card when he brought down Wall.

Early in the second half Aliou Traore was unlucky not to score when his shot across goal just missed the far post.

One of the Hereford Chances
The final twenty or so minutes was mostly Hereford with Gordon having a header cleared from close to the line and an Onyeike free kick well saved by Histon keeper Ordonez. Aboubakar Kone also had a shot well saved by Ordonez.

Finally, just before the final whistle, substitute Bilai Jafai's shot hit the post and came back out but no-one was quick enough to react.

Final score: Histon 0 Hereford 0

Hereford's Starting Eleven
Starting XI: Williams, Onyeike, Roberts, O'Neill, Gascoigne, Gordon, Traore, Eubanks, Akinde, Kone, Vetier.

Subs: Bobes-Gilroy, Ballard, O'Reilly, Viner, Jafai.

Attendance: 328 with 60/70 following the Bulls

Hereford are 21st in the Southern League Table with six points from eight games.

Finally on the team sheets there was no number 13 listed for Hereford but a number 13 came on as a sub. Only in the Southern League?
