Ex-Bull Chris Carruthers was one of four players to refuse to play for Corby Town in their loss to Poole Town on Tuesday night.
Carruthers, Sam Ives, Gareth Jelleyman, and Tom McGowan all refused to play for the Steelmen in the game after not being paid for several weeks. The club is in dispute with the local council after the council slashed funding to a community sports facility that the club manage on their behalf.
The club claim they are owed £200,000 but the council say that there are 'factual inaccuracies' in the club's claim. The Steelmen were forced to field a patched-up side in Tuesday's game, debuting a local 16 year old in the right back slot.
Carruthers, 30, spent last season with the Bulls, making 18 starts in a year blighted by injury, before joining Corby last summer.
