Board Desperate For Macclesfield Game To Go Ahead

Hereford United's board are desperate for Saturday's game at Edgar Street against Macclesfield to go ahead.

With their aim to pay players and staff a second part of their January wages tomorrow (Friday), they will be hoping that enough cash can be generated on Saturday to help get them through to March 1st when the next home game takes place.

Head groundsman, Ian Pritchard, will have his work cut out as more rain is expected to fall over Herefordshire later today.

Friday is, currently, expected to be somewhat drier before more rain and high winds hit the county early Saturday.

Over £40,000 was spent on draining the pitch last winter, more work is needed to complete the work. However given the clubs financial situation that seems unlikely to happen in the short term.

The second part of the work will involve sand slitting which should enable surface water to get to the main drains.
