According to a BBC survey, Southport is the cheapest ground to watch football in the Conference. However Hereford United also comes out well having one of the lowest admission price on the terraces.
Southport charge £10 for admission according to the BBC (although the Southport website says £13.50) and a typical day at the Lancashire club costs £16 which covers the cost of a programme, pie and a cup of tea.
An average match-day ticket in the Conference is currently £14.57 and the average for a season ticket is £245.86.
Hereford is mentioned in the survey as one of the clubs with low prices for children.
"We are working hard to open our doors to the whole community," press officer Jamie Griffiths told BBC Sport.
"With
the current economic climate, the decision was made to drop prices
almost entirely across the board, and pretty drastically with respect to
our terrace prices.
"We also introduced heavily discounted 'early bird'
season-ticket prices, with over 800 bought. Current season ticket sales
stand at over 1,100, beating last season's total."
