Grimsby have issued a terse statement announcing that joint manager Paul Hurst has become sole manager with immediate effect.
Hurst and Rob Scott had been in joint charge since March 2011, with the pair acting as joint managers at three different sides since 2008. They took the Mariners' to the play-offs last term after a disappointing 11th place finish in their first full season in charge.
The club statement says they will issue a further statement in due course. The Mariners travel to Luton tomorrow for a game televised on BT Sport.
