Former Bulls boss Richard O'Kelly has returned to Walsall after leaving Bristol City last week.
He will resume duties as Dean Smith's no.2 after leaving the Bescot Stadium in March to rejoin Sean O'Driscoll, but the unification was short lived with O'Kelly finding the commute from Birmingham to Bristol problematic.
The assistant manager post at the League One club has been empty since his replacement, David Kelly, quit after just two weeks to move to Nottm Forest.
O'Kelly told the Express & Star: “I’m looking forward to coming back.
“Walsall is a place I have enjoyed working at in the past and when I have been there either as a player or a coach, good things tend to happen.
“From that point of view we are a good fit and the fact I’m going to be working with Dean again makes the deal even sweeter.”
