Newport are fourth, two points behind the top three, after missing a last-minute penalty to draw 1-1 with Ebbsfleet. Grimsby's loss sees them four points off the top in fifth, with Forest Green six points behind them after a 1-1 home draw with Barrow - their first goal scored in five games.
Down the bottom, Telford extend their winless run to 24 games after a 2-0 home loss to Macclesfield that puts them seven points adrift of safety. Ebbsfleet are five short of escaping the drop after their draw, while Nuneaton didn't play after their game at Braintree was postponed. Hyde lost 3-0 to Gateshead, at Blyth, with the Heed moving four point clear of trouble. Lincoln beat Southport 1-0 to open a four point safety cushion. In the other games Cambridge beat Woking 1-0, while Tamworth and Alfreton drew 1-1.
In League Two, Wimbledon beat York (now 10 games without a win) 3-2 thanks to Harry Pell's late goal to move off the bottom of the table. Plymouth are last after going down 2-1 at Gillingham, with Accrington joining them in the bottom two after a 2-0 loss at Northampton. Seven sides at the bottom are separated by just four points, with Torquay (1 point from 27) losing 3-1 at home to Oxford.
