John Layton has left his role of Head of Youth at Edgar Street as part of the ongoing restructuring of the club.
Layton, who returned to the club in 2011, leaves with the role being redefined. Martin Foyle told the official site: “It will be a whole new job specification, with much wider responsibilities including player recruitment and scouting.
“The aim has got to be to improve our player pathway between the youth and first team here at Edgar Street. With the way the finances are we need two or three people wearing three or four hats at the moment, that's the situation we're in.”
Dan Connor and Jamie Edwards will take over youth team duties to the end of the season.
