The former Swindon trainee has played 19 times for the Bulls this term, and makes the move after the Exiles sold midfielder Lee Evans to Wolves earlier in the day.
Evans, 21, is out of contract in the summer and joins ex-Bulls Byron Anthony and Tony James at Rodney Parade.
Newport boss Justin Edinburgh told their official site: “Will can play centre back or centre midfield and he will strengthen the squad. Will is a player that we have watched and he is the right sort of player to come to the club.”
Later it was confirmed that Evans's contract had been terminated by Hereford United
