Players starting to get their rewards says Foyle

Hereford United manager Martin Foyle has said that given last season's relegation it's been a good start to the new season.

"Especially after following a relegation some people think you can pick up the form straight away but you don't," Foyle told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"The players have worked so hard in pre-season and they're starting to get their rewards now."

Foyle felt Alfreton this afternoon were somewhat like Tamworth last Tuesday.

"Tamworth were probably a little bit more direct because we took the lead.

"Today I thought we looked quite comfortable at times.

"First half we had to defend the long throw but the lads knew it was coming because we had worked on it at training.

"Once we sorted that out I don't think we had a problem second half."

All the goals came in the second half.

"I had a little pop at half time as I thought we were a little bit casual going into that final third.

"But second half they certainly shut me up!"

Young on loan striker Tom Nichols got the third goal.

"I was delighted for Tom

"He's a thorn in people's backsides. He makes those little darting runs, very hard to contain and he scored an excellent goal"
