Macclesfield have sold striker Ben Tomlinson to Alfreton Town for an undisclosed fee.
The 22 year old departs only a day before the season starts with manager Steve King still reportedly looking for another striker to boost his ranks. Tomlinson scored six times in 27 games for the Silkmen, including two against the Bulls last August.
The former Lewes manager currently has former Bulls loanee Waide Fairhurst, ex-Luton man Matthew Barnes-Homer, and rookie Ben Mills as his striker options for Friday night.
One player unlikely to be joining the Silkmen is Tresor Kandol. The 30 year old former Leeds man is now reported to be training with NCEL side Knaresborough Town after a disappointing trial.
There could yet be a second departure from Moss Rose later today, with winger Colin Daniel currently in talks with Mansfield over a reported £35,000 move. Stags boss Paul Cox has told their official site this lunchtime that talks are ongoing and have been 'positive'.
