Following a merger of Alfreton Miners Welfare and Alfreton United in 1959, their early years were spent in the Midland Counties League before progressing to Northern Counties League and the Northern Premier before arriving in the Conference North in 2003.  They faced The Bulls in qualifying round of the FA Cup in 2005/06 and it took a replay and a penalty shoot-out before The Bulls overcame the stubborn "Reds".  They completed their first season in The Blue Square Premier last year in 15th position and are managed by former Bull Nicky Law.

ADMISSION - £18 for adults and £12 for concessions.  However, pre-paid tickets can be obtained at £16 and £11 by phoning ATFC on 01159 392090 no later than Friday and paying by credit/debit card.  Tickets can be collected at the away turnstile on the day.

HUISA – departs from Radford's at 11.00 am with a fare of £14 (non-members £16).  Seats can be booked through The Club Office on 08442 761939.

BY CAR – To Worcester to join the M5 (North) then, at J4A, join the M42.  Continue on the M42 following signs for Tamworth, The North, M1).  The M42 becomes the A42 before joining the M1 (North) near Donnington Park services.  Leave the M1 at junction 28 and take the A38 towards Derby. After around two miles take the B600 towards Alfreton. A half a mile further on you will see a Total Garage on your right and a Catholic Church on your left. Turn left just after the church into North Street. The ground is down the bottom of this street on the right. There is a small car park at the ground; otherwise there is plenty of street parking.  Postcode is DE55 7FZ, distance is a little over 120 miles and you should allow two and a half hours.

ALEHOUSES – The Supporters Club just outside the entrance to the ground is said to allow visiting fans.  Just a few minutes away in Nottingham Road is The Victoria, which is reported to have at least two, hand-pumps and will welcome HUFC fans.  For those wishing to venture a little further, my advice is to head for King Street where you will find The Waggon & Horses (Wetherspoons) and The Devonshire Arms.  The Blue Bell in High Street might be worth a visit. The nearest chip shops appear to be The Fisheries on Mansfield Road or Andrews Fish Bar on High Street.  Both are three quarters of a mile from the ground.
