News Round-Up

Ex-Bull Tamika Mkandawire has been nominated for the PFA Player in the Community award at the Football League awards. Swindon and Dagenham are the League Two sides up for the Community Club of the Year award, with the Robins and Torquay up for Best Programme. Newport are considering switching games to the nearby rugby stadium due to problems with their Spytty Park pitch. The pitch needs urgent work but they do not currently have a gap in their calendar to get the job done.

Oxford have signed striker Mehdi Kerrouche from Swindon on a month long loan. The 26 year old Algerian scored eight times in 18 games at the start of the season, but hasn't played for the Robins for two months after falling out of favour. The U's have also released striker Matt Fletcher after his short term deal expired. Darlington fans have resolved the confusion over the newly announced 'Supporters United' group and have united behind that banner. The group will now progress the community club plan worked on by the Rescue Group.

Bradford co-chairman Mark Lawn has used the local press to launch a scathing attack on the fitness of referees. Lawn also says that the average League Two ref cannot cope with the pressure of a game at Valley Parade due to the size of the crowd. Crewe have signed teenage defender Jon Guthrie on an 18 month deal. The youngster was spotted playing for Wessex League side Pewsey Vale.

Port Vale acting chairman Mike Lloyd says the £350,000 disputed shares of board members Peter Miller and Perry Deakin, and the £150,000 worth issued to Blue Sky, can be used to vote at the forthcoming EGM. Lloyd says that, despite being chairman, he couldn't comment on if they have paid for the shares or not. The Supporters Club has called any use of the shares in the vote 'morally wrong' as they haven't been paid for.

Bristol Rovers have signed defender Tom Parkes on a months loan from Leicester. The 20 year old spent the first half of the season at Burton but missed all but four games after fracturing his ankle. Former Bulls striker Adrian Foster, now manager at Toolstation League leaders Gillingham Town, found his latest signing driving a taxi. Romanian defender Rus Alim-Yaler was a professional in his home country, but arrived in the UK in October and was working for Foster's wife's family taxi firm. 40 year old Foster is still playing, having scored five times in 18 games this season.

Crewe have signed defender James Tunnicliffe from Wycombe on a months loan. The 22 year old cost Brighton a six-figure fee from Stockport in 2009, but was released in the summer with a year left on his contract.
