Cold but Sunny Day Forecast

Much of Herefordshire is waking up to another cold morning but the forecast is for a sunny day.

Temperatures are reported to have dropped to -5.7C at Credenhill, the local Met Office weather station, as at 7am.

The match referee for this afternoon's Hereford United versus Cheltenham Town, Roger East, is understood to have stayed near Hereford last night and will be able to inspect the Edgar Street pitch at short notice if required.

UPDATE 10am: Inspection taking place - no decision as yet

UPDATE 10.35am: The referee has looked at the pitch but, according to a Cheltenham source, has decided to delay a decision until nearer mid-day. There are some frosty areas on the pitch which are unlikely to have much sunlight on them.

UPDATE 11.45am: Decision expected shortly. Just two other League Two games are still on - those at Bristol Rovers and Torquay.
