Accrington have named former midfielder Paul Cook as their new manager.
The 44 year old joins on a two and a half year deal from Irish side Sligo Rovers, who had claimed yesterday that he was staying with the club after talks broke down. With Sligo, Cook had won both the Irish FA Cup and League Cup in 2010. As part of the compensation package agreed with the Irish side, Accrington will play friendlies with them over the next two pre-seasons.
Current caretaker boss Leam Richardson will take charge of tomorrow's game at Rotherham before becoming Cook's assistant.
