Oxford say Swindon offered striker James Constable a 'substantial increase' in his wages to make a move after having their third offer accepted by the U's. In a statement detailing the day's events, Oxford say Constable turned down the move after speaking to his family. Macclesfield have signed midfielder Dwayne Mattis after he was released by Chesterfield. The 30 year old helped the Spireites to promotion last season but has been sparingly used this season.

Rotherham have sold striker Chris Holroyd to Preston for an undisclosed fee. The former Cambridge man had a successful loan spell under new Preston boss Graham Westley at Stevenage last term, but has struggled for form with the Millers. Former Bulls striker Steve White is to be inducted into Swindon's Hall of Fame in a ceremony this afternoon. White played 200 times for the Robins before netting 44 goals in two years at Edgar Street.

Swindon have signed Arsenal defender Daniel Boateng on loan until the end of the season. The 19 year old is yet to make his senior debut, but the Robins have been chasing him since the summer. Crewe youngster Nick Powell has been named the Football League Young Player of the Month for December. The 17 year old scored twice in four games during the month.

Accrington have sold club captain Andy Proctor to Preston for an undisclosed fee. The 28 year old has played over 300 times for Stanley in ten years at the club. Kettering have appointed Ashley Westwood as caretaker manager. The former Crewe and Northampton man will also act as a player for the club, but will not be eligible for their trip to Wrexham, another of his former sides, today.

Crawley say striker Tyrone Barnett will remain with them after rejecting personal terms on a move to Blackpool. The Red Devils accepted a bid for the striker yesterday. The fee Cheltenham paid for winger Jermaine McGlashan yesterday is claimed by the local press to be a club record, beating their previous best of £50,000.

Morecambe have signed teenage striker Jordan Burrow on an 18 month deal after a successful trial, and signed young Blackpool keeper Chris Kettings on loan for the rest of the season. First choice stopper Barry Roche has also signed a new deal, keeping him at the Globe Arena until the summer of 2014. Chesterfield are reported to have suspended their Financial Director after he allegedly handed a £1million IT contract to his son's company.
