Manset convicted for Drink-driving

Former Hereford United striker Mathieu Manset has been convicted for drink driving.

Now with Reading, Manset was arrested near Southampton a week before Christmas.

In court last Wednesday, Manset pleaded guilty to a charge of failing without reasonable excuse to provide a specimen of breath.

Manset, of Michael’s Chase, Reading, was “agitated and confused” at the police station about having to give two breath tests and matters got “lost in translation”.

His solicitor told the court Manset had drunk two glasses of wine and two of champagne.

The striker was fined £1400 and banned for a year. It's not known if he has also been fined by Reading.

Meanwhile Manset is unlikely to feature for Reading for a couple of weeks after he pulled a hamstring last Tuesday.
